Triple Pod Recommended Installation

This guide will show the recommend mounting locations for the new temperature sensors included with our units.

It is recommended to add a small sleeve of insulation or 1/4″ tubing over the sensors. This helps stabilize the temperature readings by adding some mass and blocking direct air contact. Otherwise the values on the display may toggle around with slight variances.

Note: Newer kits include insulation sleeves. these can be removed for the wire routing process, then replaced during final installation.

The interior temperature sensor will be mounted under the dash. The exterior temperature sensor will be mounted to behind the turn signal. Rough routing shown below

The OEM location for the interior Delica temperature sensor is on the bottom of the steering column. However, Delicas that never had the sensor have no mounting provisions here.

To get a similar reading we recommend mounting the sensor under the dash. this can be easily accessed from below. It is important to mount the sensor with some insulation and NOT on any metal objects. Otherwise temperature readings may be inaccurate. We recommend taping the sensor to the plastic harness connector.

The exterior sensor will require removal of the turn signal and corresponding trim panel. This is held on by 3 philips head screws, one on the side and two up front, under the headlight. Then unplugging the lamp connectors.

Below is an image of the OE exterior sensor location for reference. It is behind the front bumper. to AVOID having to remove the bumper, a similar location behind the headlight is recommended. Detailed below.

Installation of sensor behind headlight:

The wire can then be routed through the grommet with a snake. We used an exact-o blade to make a small incision in the grommet fot the sensor and wire.

The sensor can the be snaked from the cabin to the exterior of the vehicle. We use a bent coat hanger to pull our wires through the grommet. Be careful and do not snag any existing wires. Removing the speaker and speaker cover can help with access, but is not necessary.

Do not mount the sensor directly onto metal. Use foam tape, or similar to isolate the sensor when mounting. Our sensor is mounted to the frame, but the insulation sleeve itself is not touching any metal.
