MONSOON GUARD INSTALLATION

This guide will go through the installation process of the Monsoon Rain Guards.

It is recommended to have a friend to help with the install, as installing the hardware can difficult with only one set of hands. This will help to avoid dropping and loosing any of the hardware.

Monsoon Guards and included clips have race-track shaped holes provide adjust-ability.

1. Place the clips in their approximate locations. They will be adjusted later. There are 6 upper clips and 2 lower clips per side.

Upper clips are installed between the frame and run-channel:

Lower clips are installed over the trim. Use a panel popper to create a gap to slide the clip in:

2. If your van came with the window glass alignment clips, these will need wto be in the “bumped-out” areas of the Monsoon Guards. If they do not line up relocate them accordingly. This is done simply by pulling the run channel out and removing the clip. They will take a little bit of force to re-install.

5. Install the hardware, loosely at first. Start from the front and work your way up/back, adjusting the clip location as you go. Ensure the Monsoon Guard is in the right location when installing the first screw. These will take some wiggling and light flexing to get into place. Be gentle as to not damage the guards, they are fragile. It will likely take a few test fits and tweaking of clip position to get it right.

Hardware is installed with washers on inside and outside. Screws are inserted from inside to out with acorn nuts on the outside. It is recommend to have a friend help install the hardware as reaching from inside to out can be tricky while supporting the Monsoon Guard.

DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN SCREWS, THIS CAN CAUSE THE MONSOON GUARDS TO CRACK!

Over tightened screw + pot hole = RIP Rain Guard.

5. Check the lower clip nuts to ensure that there is no interference with the window. If the screw head contacts the glass, bend the clip outwards to eliminate the interference:

Screw head is just barely touching the glass
Clip bent outward to eliminate contact

6. Once the Monsoon Guard is in place, apply medium loctite/threadlocker to all hardware. Do this one screw at a time so that the Guard stays in place. Again, be careful and do not over tighten the hardware.
