L300 Inclinometer Replacement

This guide will show you how to replace the inclinometer in your Delica L300 with our replacement module. This is a simple procedure, but care must be taken, as the plastics used in the gauge pods themselves tend to degrade, become brittle and crack over time. I recommend having a bottle of superglue on hand to repair any cracks you may discover. If there are extensive cracks, I recommend drilling small holes at their ends to prevent continued propagation, this is a common practice.

Tools & Parts:

  1. Long Philips Head Screwdriver
  2. Miniature Flat Head Screwdriver
  3. Panel Popper or Large Flat Head Screwdriver
  4. Replacement Inclinometer
  5. Super Glue for Crack Repair

1. Remove the knob on the front face of the altimeter with the miniature flat head screwdriver. Make sure not to loose it.

2. Using a panel popper or large flat head screwdriver remove the lower trim from the gauge pod to expose the screws. Remove the two Philips head screws to free the pod.

3. Carefully lift the pod off of the dash and disconnect the electrical connector on the back.

4. Remove the light bulbs. They cover some of the screws that will need to be removed. They twist an 1/8 of a turn and pop out.

5. Remove the two philips head screws located in the recesses.

Notice the cracks in the plastic above the lower recessed screw. These should be glued.

6. Remove the three rear inclinometer screws. There was a large crack (shown in blue) we super glued this back together.

7. The face of the pod can now be removed. The altimeter and thermometer will stay in the pod. The inclinometer will come out with the face.

8. Remove the inclinometer by removing the two philips head screws securing it to the face.

9. Carefully replace and re-assemble the Inclinometer and gauge pod. Make sure any glue has fully dried!
