For Delica L300 with 4D56
This Installation will explain how to install the EGR block-off plates on the exhaust header and intake manifold of the 4D56 Engine.
Tools & Parts:
- EGR block-off plate kit- Check Amazon, Ebay and Ali Express
- Philips Screwdriver
- 12 mm Socket
If you are having trouble sourcing a kit below is a drawing for EGR Block-off Plates. Any plasma cutter/laser cutter shop can make em for you.
1. Remove the lower tube of the EGR valve from the exhaust header by unscrewing the two 12 mm nuts. This may require using penetrating oil and a torch to apply heat if the hardware is rusty/stuck.
2. Remove the drivers seat by unscrewing the four 12mm bolts that secure the seat rails.
3. Open the access hatch to access the intake area. Remove the upper two plastic clips holding the rubber barrier in place.
-The clips can be replaced with zipties if they break.
4. Remove the two hose clamps securing the inlet hose and remove the hose.
5. The inlet pipe must be moved out of the way in order to access and remove the EGR valve. Remove the head breather hose (Blue) and unscrew the two 12mm bolts securing the pipe (Red, only one shown). Then twist the inlet pipe upwards and out of the way
6. Disconnect the vacuum line to the EGR valve and install the hose plug supplied in the kit.
If you want, you can also remove the hard-lines from the valve cover and just couple the vacuum source to the air conditioner solenoid. see this video for an explanation of the vacuum system:
7. Remove the EGR valve
8. Reuse the original gaskets if possible and Install the EGR block-off plates in their respective locations.
If your gaskets are leaky, damaged, or just in bad condition you can easily make your own out of aluminum. See the video below for how to DIY gaskets:
