Boost Gauge Installation

For Delica L300 with 4D56

This installation will show how to tap into boost system to run a line to a boost gauge or install a boost sensor. There are many options for sensor wire routing and gauge placement.

Tools & Parts:

  • 1/4″ constant Tension Clamps
  • 5″ of 1/4″Boost Line
  • Boost Tee (Supplied with Gauge)
  • Supplied Boost Line or Boost Sensor

The easiest location to read boost pressure is from the line running to the Injection Pump. This line come directly from the turbo. This location keeps the tee and any boost line away from hot parts of the engine.

1. Remove the boost line from the pump. and push the line back.
2. Add the boost tee and 4-5″ of the 1/4″ line as shown below. and secure with hose clamps.

Retaining the original hose allows for easy removal of any installation hardware for replacement or removal.

3. There are many ways to run the wiring harness into the cabin. some options are below:

  • Run up by the air filter box and out under the drivers seat, then under the carpet to the dash.
  • Run up next to the engine and out under the passengers seat or center console, then under the carpet to the dash.
  • Run around and in front of the engine/radiator and up through the floor following heater lines and existing harnesses.
